As a teenager she raised piglets and took them to market to buy her first guitar.Moving to Nashville soon after, she discovered the music of Django Reinhardt, Howlin Wolf, Tom Waits, and Dr. John, among many others.She fell in love with the New Orleans style of piano playing, and on June 6th, 2019 she took her last $100 to buy her first piano. On the way home, she got a call that her new musical hero, Dr. John, had passed away.
