Chicago Hotel Reviews As Cool As Our Guest List

Hotel Versey's storied 1920s building on the corners of Clarke, Broadway and Diversey has been welcoming guests, celebs and rockers for nearly a century. From jazz greats like Bix Biederbecke and Louis Armstrong to the biggest names in rock like Kurt Cobain, Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews, many cool people have stayed under our roof. Of course, we welcome less-famous guests, too, like business travelers and vacationers looking to explore the city's shopping, dining, sports and music. Check out what past guests think about the most unique and storied hotel in Chicago. You might even recognize a few names.

Excellent location. Great hotel.

August 28, 2017
Check-in was smooth and the staff helpful and very nice. Room 205 on the 2nd floor overlooking the street was bigger than expected and quieter than expected. In-room safe, coffee maker, no fridge. Very clean and modern. The entire hotel has an awesome vibe about it which was perfectly suited for it's location. We were there for a concert at Wrigley and it's approximately a 1.25 mile walk. Felt incredibly safe the entire time and literally everything you need in terms of dining or drinking is along the way. Just an all-around fun neighborhood. As for parking. You can stop at the loading zone in the front of the hotel for valet for $45.00 per day with in/out privileges (I think it was $45.00), or since we were planning on walking around, we used the garage on Clark St. The garage is called The Century and if coming from the East on Diversey, take a right on Clark, the garage is almost immediately on your left side. You take a ticket, self park, then when leaving, visit one of the kiosks to pay and you have 10 minutes to get out. We actually booked through TripAdvisor for this hotel and while other sites indicated there weren't any rooms available, for some reason TA got us one. Sounds like a plug but we have never used them before and now after this experience, we will definitely look into TripAdvisor again for any booking. It was a very smooth process. Thanks again and if available, we would 100% stay here again.   ~ Guest

A great weekend get away!

September 12, 2017
I love staying at Hotel Versey Days Inn Chicago. It's a boutique hotel in the middle of anything and everything you want to do!. Great restaurants, walking distance to Wrigley Field and if your a college sports fanatic, you'll find your teams tavern somewhere close by. It's the only place I stay when in Chicago if your wanting that neighborhood feel but still close to Michigan Ave!   ~ Guest

Baseball Fever

September 26, 2017
We stumbled upon this hotel because we had tickets to a Cardinals/Cubs game at Wrigley Field. It was so much better than I expected! The hotel itself is eclectic with murals painted on the headboard wall of every room. It was in an ideal location...surrounded by bars, restaurants and most importantly, within walking distance of Wrigley Field. I will definitely stay here again even if it's not for a baseball game!   ~ Guest

A nice place in a part of the Chicago with few hotel options

October 16, 2017
My wife and I were going to visit our son who lives in Lincoln Park. For those familiar with Chicago you know there are very decent hotel options in the northern part of the city. Hotel Versey is in Lakeview and couldn't be better located for those interested in ample choices of restaurants and interesting neighborhoods. Hotel Versey is a funky, hip small hotel that remains part of the Days Inn chain. This is as far from a normal Days Inn as anyone can imagine. The front desk staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The room was large, bed very comfortable and the bathroom clean. A small inconvenience, but not a real complaint: it would be nice to have a coffee place/carry out in the hotel. There are many options a short distance, but in the morning or if its raining much easier not to have to go outside. Ending with a complement: must commend the staff again from the front desk to the housekeeping. All of our requests were fulfilled with a smile and in a timely manner. If you are looking for a fun, reasonably priced hotel, then Hotel Versey is the place for you.   ~ Guest
