Conveniently located just a few minutes north of downtown Chicago, Lincoln Park Zoo is a free oasis in the heart of Chicago, dedicated to connecting people with nature and creating environments where wildlife can thrive in our urbanizing world. Discover nearly 200 species from around the world in state-of-the-art habitats. From Regenstein Center for African Apes to McCormick Bird House to Robert and Mayari Pritzker Penguin Cove, you're bound for quite the zoo adventure. With many events and activities occurring year-round, it's the perfect outing for families, friends, or date nights.

New Animals

The zoo is always creating new habitats. The latest including polar bears at Walter Family Arctic Tundra, African penguins at Robert and Mayari Pritzker Penguin Cove and snow monkeys at Regenstein Macaque Forest. Check the website for all animals at https://www.lpzoo.org/animals

  • Where can you eat at the zoo?

    Whether you are looking for a sit down meal or quick snack, there are a number of casual dining spots. During the warmer months, The Patio at Café Brauer is a great place to soak up some sunshine while enjoying a tasty breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks. Other dining experiences include: Park Place Café, Bird's Eye Bar & Grill, Eadie Levy's Landmark Café, and multiple concession stands.
  • Where can you park?

    There is a zoo lot located at Fullerton Parkway and Cannon Drive. Parking is free for visits under 30 minutes, and rates begin at $20. The zoo is easily accessible by public transportation, including bus and train lines.
