Hotel Versey FAQs

 

Most commonly asked questions at the front desk:

 

Property:

A There are 137 rooms in the hotel.
A This building was built in the 1920’s.
A It was remodeled in 2017.
A This hotel is 4 story building with shops around. We do not have rooms with a lake view.
A Yes, when you complete your reservation you can ask the front desk agent to put in a request for a quiet room. We do our best to accommodate all requests, but are unable guarantee them as it depends on availability.
A Yes, we have shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, razor, shaving cream, sewing kit, etc.
 

Policies:

A Our check-in time is 3:00 pm until 11:00 pm. For check-in after 11pm please notify the front desk of a late arrival. Our check-out time is 12 noon.
A We suggest you call the front desk before arriving to see if the room is ready. If it is not ready we can always store your bags and if you have a car you can valet the car. To guarantee an early check-in we suggest you make your reservation for the night before.
A Please call the front desk early in the morning to see if it is possible to check out late. For check-out from 2:00 pm until 6:00pm there’s a half day charge. For check-out on or after 6pm a full night charge will apply.
A Yes, we can always store bags until the end of the day.
A Yes, there is a secured bike storage area behind the hotel.
A The hotel does not allow pets but welcomes service animals as defined per the ADA. While “psychiatric service dogs” are an example of service animals, an “emotional support animal” is not. If an animal is not trained, but highly disruptive, hotel staff may assume the animal is not actually a service animal as defined per the ADA and approach the owner accordingly.
A No, our hotel is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is not permitted on the premises or within 15 feet from the entrance. The hotel imposes a $200 smoking fee per night if a guest smokes in his/her room.
A An extra hold on your credit card is a deposit for incidentals. This is just an authorization, not an actual charge.
A Releasing the deposit/hold on the credit card depends on your bank but takes about 4-5 business days. The hotel releases the hold at check-out. We suggest you call your bank directly if you like to speed up the process.
A Minimum age to check- in is 18 years old.
A No, we do not accept credit cards over the phone. However, we can set up a third party authorization form if you would like to pay ahead of time or for someone else. Also, you can book pre-paid reservations online.
 

Amenities:

A No, only our executive rooms have a mini fridge & microwave.
A No, but we have Nespresso machines in all rooms. Also, we provide all guests with a free coupon for Stan’s Donuts; with any purchase you will get a glazed donut or a bagel for free. Starbucks and The Original Pancake House are at the corners across the street.
A No, we do not have vending machines in the hotel. However, there is Walgreens at the corner across the street. Target and Walmart are within a block of the hotel.
A Yes, we sell Fiji bottled water at the front desk for $2 each.
A Not yet, but we will soon. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The front desk has an extensive list.
A No, we do not have rooftop.
A An Order Inn room service menu can be found in the desk drawer in your room. Room service is provided by a local restaurant.
A No, we do not have computers in the lobby for our guests. However, we can print any documents if you email them to the front desk at info@hotelversey.com.
A Hotel guests (18 and older) have complimentary access to LA Fitness a full service health club located next door in the Century Shopping Centre on the 7th floor. Hotel guests must present a picture ID and room key card. The fitness center has a lap pool. None of our hotel rooms have Jacuzzis.
A No, but we do offer dry cleaning service that gets billed to the room; same day service if received by 8:30 am.
A Unfortunately, we do not.
 

Parking:

A We offer valet parking for standard size cars. Valet attendants park in the Century Shopping Centre garage behind the hotel. The fee for valet parking is $40 per night with unlimited IN/OUT privileges. To valet your car, pull up in front of the hotel in the valet/loading zone and hand your keys to the valet. The charges will be billed to your room.
A Yes, there is self-parking at the Century Shopping Centre garage behind the hotel on Clark Street. Charges are $27 for 24 hours, but no IN/OUT privileges (prices subject to change).
A Yes, you can pay cash for valet at the valet stand or at the front desk.
A There is meter and residential permit parking. Please, check the meter before parking. Meter timing is every 2 hours maximum. Beware not to park in residential permit parking zones.
 

Transportation:

A No, but you can contact Go Airport Express http://airportexpress.hudsonltd.net/res?USERIDENTRY=DAYSINN&LOGON=GO, an outside company that will pick up and drop off at our hotel.
A We can turn on our cab light or the bellman can flag one down. Let us know 2 minutes in advance for a regular taxi. If you need a larger vehicle or van please give us a 15 minutes notice.
A Union Station/Amtrak is 5.8 miles south of the hotel. Driving time is 30 minutes. A bus ride may take up to an hour. Times can fluctuate due to traffic.
A Yes, maps of the city, lists of restaurants in the area & attractions in the city are all available at the front desk.
A No, but you can find train or bus maps at the Brown Line train station which is 5 blocks west of the hotel. You can also visit www.transitchicago.com.
A Yes, Cycle Smithy 0.4 miles on Clark St. south of the hotel.
A MIDWAY is 16 miles from the hotel. O’Hare (ORD) is 14.5 miles from the hotel.
A O’Hare (ORD) is a 40 minute drive with no traffic, public transportation takes about 1 hour with the Blue Line train and 76 Diversey bus. MIDWAY is also a 40 minute drive without traffic, public transportation takes 1 hour with the Brown Line train and transfer to the Orange Line train.
A The fastest options will be to call UBER or LYFT or take a taxi. The least expensive is to take public transportation.
 

Location:

A Boystown is 1 mile north of the hotel.
A Illinois Masonic Hospital is 0.6 miles from the hotel.
A Advocate Health Care is 1.9 miles from the hotel.
A Lincoln Park Zoo is 1 mile south on Clark St.,  15 minute walk or 5 minute drive.
A Wrigley Field is 1.2 miles north of the hotel; an 8 minute drive, or 15-20 minute walk. You can also take the #22 Clark bus which is a 10 minute bus ride depending on traffic.
A The north end of Downtown is 3 miles south of the hotel. Walking takes 45 to 50 minutes. A bike ride will take 25 to 30 minutes. Driving takes 10 to 15 minutes. A bus ride takes 20 to 25 minutes. Times can fluctuate due to traffic.
A Millennium Park is 4.6 miles south of the hotel. A bus ride is 40 to 45 minutes. A bike ride 45 to 50 minutes. Driving time is 15 to 20 minutes. Times can fluctuate due to traffic.
A Navy Pier is 4.2 miles south of the hotel. Driving time is 20 minutes. A bus ride takes about 45 minutes; you will have to transfer buses. A bike ride takes 30 to 35 minutes. Times can fluctuate due to traffic.
A Soldier Field is 6.2 miles south of the hotel. Driving time is 25 minutes. Times can fluctuate due to traffic.
A Chicago White Sox play 9.1 miles south of the hotel. Driving time is 30 minutes. Times can fluctuate due to traffic.
