Chicago Hotel Reviews As Cool As Our Guest List

Hotel Versey's storied 1920s building on the corners of Clarke, Broadway and Diversey has been welcoming guests, celebs and rockers for nearly a century. From jazz greats like Bix Biederbecke and Louis Armstrong to the biggest names in rock like Kurt Cobain, Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews, many cool people have stayed under our roof. Of course, we welcome less-famous guests, too, like business travelers and vacationers looking to explore the city's shopping, dining, sports and music. Check out what past guests think about the most unique and storied hotel in Chicago. You might even recognize a few names.

City break

February 23, 2020
We really liked this hotel. We requested a quiet room at the back and I'm glad we did as sirens seemed to be going fairly constantly! It didn't affect our sleep which was good. It is a couple of miles from central Chicago but very close to Lincoln Zoo. We walked from the hotel to the Bean, 360 Centre, Magnificent Mile. It was a long walk though but there are buses you could take   ~ Guest

Great location away from downtown

Room is similar to other big city boutique hotel rooms, but oddly shaped (resembled the shape of Nevada). Tiny bathroom with no room for hair and makeup stuff, even though it has the only mirror in the room. Small desk with Nespresso machine that we couldn't get to work, but it was okay because there's a Starbucks and Stan's Donuts steps away. This location is super convenient to axe throwing, a movie theater, dining, shopping, stage plays, bus routes. Parking is available at the mall behind the hotel which is perfectly adequate. The area felt really safe, and we had no problem walking the neighborhood. I wouldn't mind staying there again   ~ Guest

Fantastic value for the location

The Versey is a fabulous hotel for the value. It is conveniently located to DePaul and Lincoln Park, shopping and eateries (Stan's Donuts is next door), the bus and the train. The Versey feels like a boutique hotel at a much better price point. And the rooms are well appointed. Our room was street side on the third floor. My only complaint was that it was a little noisy. I was so tired it didn't stop me from sleeping, but we didn't find the complimentary ear plugs in the nightstand until we were checking out   ~ Guest
